Attorney General McDonnell Visits AVID LLC

Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell visited Blacksburg recently to meet with AVID LLC President Sam Wilson and CFO Nanci Hardwick to learn more about their operations and what they need from the state to be even more successful.

Being one of the larger companies in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, McDonnell stated that AVID provides an outstanding business model and allows many excellent jobs to remain in the Commonwealth. He asserts, "AVID is a great Virginia company that creates jobs and opportunities for the residents of the Commonwealth. In order for Virginia to be successful we must create the kind of business climate that encourages companies like AVID to move to Virginia, and existing Virginia businesses to expand within our state. Virginia has long been recognized as a national model in providing a positive business climate, as Attorney General I am going to do all I can to ensure that this reputation continues in the years ahead."

The Attorney General has long been interested in creating a regulatory environment that allows Virginia businesses to grow, and with the help of his newly created Government and Regulatory Reform Task Force is identifying and removing antiquated regulations that stifle the market.
