Paul A. Gelhausen

Co-founder and CTO, AVID LLC

Paul A. Gelhausen has been Chief Technical Officer since he co-founded AVID LLC in 2002. With over 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Gelhausen is responsible for strategy, technology development, and delivery of future aerospace vehicles and simultaneously pursues new analytical tools and methods for the advancement and analysis of aerospace technologies. Under Mr. Gelhausen's guidance, AVID has created methods for the design and analysis of aircraft specializing in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's). Projects have spanned to include fixed wing aircraft, ducted fan aircraft, and biomimetic vehicles. Design concepts and methodologies for low noise propellers, cooling fans, and wind turbine designs have also been developed.

Samuel B. Wilson, III

CVO, AVID LLC

In 2003, Samuel B. Wilson, III joined AVID LLC and is a Managing Member. In 2008, he was named Chief Visionary Officer. Mr. Wilson drives AVID to provide aircraft design expertise and software support to U.S. Government agencies and aerospace companies, in military, academic and commercial sectors. He serves as a Principle Investigator for projects, and handles business development in the United States and overseas. Under Mr. Wilson's direction, AVID has successfully teamed with other companies, universities, and government agencies. These collaborations have resulted in the successful design and production of systems in use today; such as the DARPA MAV deployed in Iraq.
